The Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas (IETU) is a research institute acting under the Minister of Climate and Environment. IETU performs projects and offers services to public administration (local, regional and national level) as well as businesses. The R&D and services carried out by IETU focus on environmental challenges posed by industrialised and urbanised areas in the context of circular economy, resource efficiency, adaptation to climate change and mitigation of its effects. IETU is an experienced partner in EU funded projects (FP5,6,7, H2020, Interreg, LIFE) participating in 45 and coordinating 5 projects. IETU has been involved in development and establishing the EU ETV scheme since 2006 taking part in FP6 project AdvanceETV and contributing to the development of the EU ETV General Verification Protocol and guide for proposers. Accredited 2016, IETU ETV Body performs verifications of water technologies. Recently ETV Body IETU applied for extension of accreditation to materials/resources/recycling technology area of ETV. IETU has a broad collaboration network in EU and beyond (US, Canada, LAC) being a Knowledge Centre of EREK, a member of European Circular Economy Alliance (ECERA), of VerifiGlobal – an international alliance of ETV Bodies and European Water Platform (WssTP). In 2017 IETU implemented a PL-NO project ETV4Water under Norway Funds dedicated to ETV promotion in Scandinavian countries. IETU is experienced in promotion and dissemination activities as leader of these tasks in numerous EU projects.
